Taekwondo has helped me understand the importance of values.

Taekwondo has helped me to understand the importance of values. I try to live life by treating others the way I would like to be treated. Taekwondo has allowed me to maintain more control over my fears, emotions, and to learn from the best. - Kevin Raeford, 1st Dan

Tae Kwon Do is an adventure.

Tae Kwon Do is an adventure, a challenge, and a chance to connect with yourself and with others. Earning the Black Belt that you strive to wrap around your waist is not just the reward you receive for "fulfilling the requirements" of testing. It's also an opportunity to continue the teachings of the Masters and senior belts who brought you to this point in your training. - Matt Veasy, 1st Dan

I started going to the Wake Forest dojang in August of 2003.

I started going to the Wake Forest dojang in August of 2003, and was on summer vacation for the first month that I took Tae Kwon Do. When I went back to school, my friends commented that they were seeing a whole new side of me. I raised my hand to answer more questions during class, and on the whole was more outgoing than 1 had ever been before. - Alayna Veasy, 1st Dan

At Black Belt World everyone helps everyone to be better.

At Black Belt World everyone helps everyone to be better. Sometimes it's a visiting instructor who takes the time to teach you to tie your belt correctly or just an upper belt adult telling me or another kid that we can do it and to keep trying, or a parent clapping for you when you break a board and they're not your mom or dad. - Samantha Bennett, 1st Dan
